Canadian entrepreneur John McBride, a veteran investor with over four decades of experience in venture capital and early-stage business development, has relocated to El Salvador to oversee his $10 million investment portfolio.

After moving from Panama with his family, McBride launched the first Mail Boxes Etc. center in the country under his corporation EMPODERARsv, part of a broader strategy to expand into logistics, aviation, bitcoin, and strategic mineral mining.

“El Salvador’s bold leadership and economic transformation convinced me this was the right place,” McBride stated, emphasizing President Bukele’s policies. “The practical approach and the notable improvement in security convinced me this was the right place.”

Why El Salvador?

McBride’s pivot to El Salvador mirrors growing international confidence in the country’s reforms. Since his first visit in January 2022, he has prioritized four ventures:

  1. Mail Boxes Etc.: A San Salvador-based logistics hub at the World Trade Center, specializing in U.S.-focused e-commerce and international shipping.
  2. Ship Apollo (maritime freight solutions).
  3. True North Aviation, including TNA Helicorp for aerial services.
  4. Satstreet Inc., advancing tech infrastructure.
